When Love Feels Like Home

In a world that often feels transient and fast-paced, the feeling of home remains a constant, a refuge from the storms of life. No matter how far we roam, we yearn for that comforting feeling that comes from the presence of those we love.

The essence of home is in the little things — the smell of a familiar meal, the sound of laughter around the dinner table, and the shared stories that make you feel connected. It’s in the joy of returning to your loved ones, the reassurance of knowing they are just a call away, and the strength that family and friends provide.

I’ve lived in various places and cities, and the concept of home crystallizes in my thoughts of you. Experts say, “Sometimes we don’t know where home is, but we know what it feels like.” I find profound truth in those words.

Home feels like the warmth caressing my skin when I nuzzle against your neck, your fingers gently weaving through my hair, syncing with the rhythm of our heartbeats. It’s a silent affirmation that I am precisely where I should be.

Home is your embrace, a secure cocoon enveloping me. It exudes a shield, an assurance that nothing can harm me within these arms.

Home is the emotion dwelling in my heart when your laughter erupts, accompanied by occasional snorts, creating a melody that soothes my soul.

In the morning, home is the scent of pancakes wafting through the air, accompanied by your humming to Bruno Mars’s “Just the Way You Are.” It’s the delight of witnessing your morning performances as you serve breakfast in bed, the warmth settling in my heart, and the comfort derived from your presence.

It’s the comforting presence that fills my heart when you’re just in the same space as me, creating a sanctuary within the shared silence.

Home is the way my heart races with joy when I see you making your way to me at the airport after being apart for a while. It’s the rush of adrenaline that travels down my spine when you sculpt my body into a fierce hug. Those hugs that scream “I missed you so much”.

Home is our bodies intertwined — with every tender touch, we compose poetry in the language of desire, creating a melody that resonates through the depths of our shared passion. In this hallowed space, time surrenders, and the universe fades, leaving only the harmonious rhythm of our entwined souls.

Home is a haven where my heart feels at ease, where I can be my true self, and where I find the love and acceptance I crave.

Home is those moments when our favourite song starts playing, and we jump up to dance, with our two left feet not caring about our less-than-perfect dance moves. We find ourselves swaying to the rhythm, not always in sync with the music, but pouring our hearts into the lyrics as we sing along. The song becomes the backdrop to our laughter, and the makeshift dance floor is a stage for our genuine, carefree selves. In these simple, sweet moments, we create a harmony of happiness, dancing and singing with reckless abandon, cherishing the sheer delight of being in the moment together.

Home is how your lips linger on mine after a kiss savoring the precious moments we share. It’s the way your body melts into mine when I lean in for another kiss, as if in that moment, your entire existence depends on the sweetness of our connection. Each kiss is a testament to the depth of our bond, a silent language spoken through the tenderness we exchange

Home may take on diverse forms for different people, but for me, home is wherever you are. It’s in the shared laughter, the quiet moments, the slow kisses, the tangled sheets, and the unspoken understanding that binds us together. Home is you.

About me: Hey, I’m Happiness, and it’s the perfect description of me. People claim women aren’t funny until they meet me. I can be many things, but boring isn’t one of them. Sometimes the stories in my head are a bit wild, but I tame the madness by pouring my heart into writing. Check out my pieces on Medium! https://medium.com/@Thehappywriter
